Don's started another poll. This one is "Who's the best villain in anime?"
UPDATE: While I'm doing a linky post, there's also this: Duck abuse

(via) If Batman fights Superman, who wins? Rock solid logic proves it would be Batman.
UPDATE: Actually, premise 5 is debateable. "Batman would never initiate a fight he could not win." ... unless he didn't care about losing. For instance, maybe he needs to keep Superman distracted.
I suppose it depends on what you mean by "winning". If you mean "one guy stands looking down at the unconscious body of the other" then that's one thing. But if you use the more expansive meaning of "achieving an objective" then in that case keeping Superman distracted is itself a victory, so Batman is still a winner even if he's the one who is unconscious at the end.
UPDATE: I can live with the "no kryptonite" restriction, because Batman can still use high-power red lasers.

After a long and unintentional hiatus, S1E1 is back running. Instead of the custom code it was running before, it's now on Movable Type. And Jessi has hit the ground running, with first-ep reviews of Hanamaru Kindergarten and Baka Test.
UPDATE: Pete, you having a bad day or something?
A bit of back story, for those who tuned in late: The old version of S1E1 wasn't run by Jessi. A friend of hers volunteered to take care of everything for her. She would compose her articles and mail them to the friend, who would post them for her. If there is an RSSPECT feed, he's the one who set it up.
He got sick. He stopped posting her reviews. She talked to him a couple of times to see what it would take to get him moving again, and after being patient for about three months took the hard decision to work around him and do it herself.
But she's never done anything like this before, so I understand it. The first and biggest job was to save all her old reviews and get them into the new CMS, which is now done. She started posting new stuff in the last few days.
If there are problems, the right way to deal with them is to let her know about them, privately if possible. Publicly flaming her (especially on a site she may not even know exists) is pointless and... not very nice.

Pete found a post dated 4/1 (ahem) which claims to be about an upcoming third Hinako title. I confess that I paused for a moment before deciding it was a spoof.
First, because the sample art is gorgeous. Someone even did an animated teaser. Second, because the concept isn't actually all that farfetched, by the standards of the series. They did one title in which you watch a girl with big... anyway, you watch her doing excercises. Then they did one where you watch her sleeping. So why not one about watching a trophy secretary doing office work?
I don't know who did the big sample pictures, but Primastea ought to hire him as a character designer!
UPDATE: Purportedly it's titled "Working with Mirai Suenaga". I'm guessing that Suenaga is Hinako's surname, and the show is (supposedly)about her getting a job as an office lady in a few years.

Pete shows us a picture of the desk of an anime producer, and then a picture he claims is of the desk of a computer programmer.
Ha! I say. Ha! It's obviously phony. It's too clean, for one thing. And there isn't any stack of empty soda cans!
On the other hand, I like the producer's desk (even though I find figmas to be really creepy).
UPDATE: An old programming maxim: "A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind."
