Wow, that's quite a list. Not sure how many of them I care to watch, but it's quite a list nonetheless.

First time in a long time I've had more than one series that I've wanted to see. Looks like a promising summer season for my tastes!

Do any of these look like a good source for frame grabs?

Hard to say. All we have now is concept art.

Rail Wars might be good. (Girls with guns!)
Sabagebu might be OK. (But Stella Jogakuin was a disappointment, and this one might be, too.)
The concept art for Momo Kyun Sword surely looks good, but the one in the skimpy battle bikini is one of the bad guys, so she isn't likely to get a lot of screen time.

Fate/kaleid will have some of the characters from Carnival Phantasm.

Fate/kaleid will have some of the characters from Carnival Phantasm.
It would be more accurate to say 'Fate/kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Zwei will have some of the characters from the Fate/Stay Night storyverse who also appeared in Carnival Phantasm.'

Word of the day: Gigil:, from my wife's native language: Means, "So cute, you're seized by an irresistible urge to squeeze it." Also, apparently means, "Gets you so angry, you have to punch it."
The aloha of tagalog, I guess.

Grenade launchers?
On
Andy's "Gun of the Week", what are the two guys hanging off the bottom of the stock in the front? They don't look like grenades, and they don't look like lasers (and if it was that, why two?).

OK. That makes sense. I should have figured it out.

It's a very popular design for some reason. I think it's fugly and snatches on things. But it's widespread enough to have a role in CSO (which I have on DVD).

That thing is based on a BAR chassis, has a 16" barrel, and fires 30-06. Your going to need to fire it off a bipod or other support to hit anything with the follow up shot. Pairing 30-06 (or .308) and a barrel that short make no sense what so ever. 22-24" is ideal for that caliber. Bipod forward folded is correct (allows use of the front handguard). That one looks like a Harris.

He said it was Ohio Ordnance HCAR.

'Harris bipod' (on the HCAR).

There was an Azumanga / Band of Brothers cross-over doujin, where Tomo fires BAR from sling. Of course.

Some people are too stupid to live
Here's
a gun story that will make you cringe. (I wonder how long it was before he had an accidental discharge.)

Sometimes, you just have to cheer for Darwin.
Oh, and it's not unusual to have no safety. The common misconception is that the safety prevents you from firing the gun unless you really want to. The reality is that it's to prevent an accidental discharge if the gun is dropped or subjected to a similar kinetic shock. If the gun's design is such that it can't do so, then like my Kahr K9 -- no safety, and the trigger is live.
Which, if you really, really need it for self defense, that's a good thing. I'd hate to get killed because I forgot to flip the safety off...

His general attitude is a problem, but as noted by commentator JT this particular detail is not really a problem. The M1911 and this little brother of it are
designed to be carried in Condition 1, round chambered, hammer up, manual safety on. I've carried mine for a decade and a half just like that without any problems.
In fact, I'd rate his set up as safer than ubu's, Kahrs are striker fired, there's no external hammer, so you can't keep your thumb on it while holstering to prevent an accidental discharge (thumb in front if single action to catch it as it drops, thumb behind to detect it going up if double action). Such discharges are all too common with e.g. windbreaker ties or malfunctioning/worn holsters.
Not that I expect the guy in the article to be that careful. But I'll
never carry a striker fired handgun if I have a choice, and if I had to, I'd put it in the holster while it's pointed in a vaguely safe direction then never put it back in while on my belt. Which could be very problematic in a self-defense situation, which is exactly when you'd expect to make these sorts of accidents.

Actually, the bigger problem is that it jams like nobody's business. With a manufacturer's clip, not aftermarket. I picked it over a SigSauer because it fit my hand better, but it's too big for easy concealment and being able to get only a couple of shots off before it stove-pipes is a major, major, negative. It won't clear; I have to pull the clip and let the jam fall out the bottom. Lots of comments that I wish I'd seen before I bought it at a show.
I do not recommend the firearm.

Whoa, I'm glad they're already off my list because of the striker fired mechanism.
I myself am eventually planning on getting a Sig Sauer P938 as a backup for my 4" barrel, full length grip, aluminum frame M1911, assuming they turn out to be reliable, the bugs get worked out, etc. (This is their big brother full sized 9mm version of their P238, which is a near clone of the Colt Mustang.) We'll see.
And, you know, if the idiot likes the M1911 concept, with his weight he should have no trouble carrying and concealing a full length steel M1911 ... why a mouse gun???

I like striker guns, but I passed up Kahr because it has no model with a rail.

The ace
I want to take lessons from this guy. He may be the only man on Earth who could survive when asked, "Does this dress make me look fat?"
UPDATE: Florence uses it as a diagnostic test for robots.

It is reported...
...that in the last episode of Kill La Kill, everyone gets MCSA'ed.
Which is certainly unique. Don't think I've ever heard of anything like that before, even in hentai. Usually they confine themselves just to MCSA'ing the women. But this time they also did it to fat, ugly men. Ew!

Considering that the resistance movement is called
Nudist Beach, yeah, it was bound to happen sooner or later. It made sense in context, but you had to put up with glowing male nipples and strategically placed gun belts throughout the show.
And yet
Kill la Kill still wasn't the most bizarre anime of this last season (that honor belongs to
Samurai Flamenco.)

Is it just me, or is he getting more jaded and snarky with each new season? Not that I'm complaining!

The hate was amusing at first, but I eventually I stopped paying him attention in part because of that. Coincidentially he dropped out of #animeblogger soon thereafter.

I think he kind of maxed out on being jaded and snarky quite a while ago. These days, it feels like he thinks that's his brand.

I think it's wonderful that we have access to so much anime we can turn our noses up at some of it. Compared to the dark days when they still called it Japanimation, we were grateful for anything that came our way, be it Gundam or Doraemon.
That said, I wish there weren't so much suck out there.
