While this product is a step in the right direction (as is dismantling windmills for parts and raw materials to build nuclear power plants), the best method is still to nuke the site from orbit. Not only does that utterly vaporize the offending allergen producers, it also completely depopulates the area. No people, no allergy symptoms. This method is especially effective is very high density blue voting districts where collateral damage will be kept to a minimum.
After all, it's the only way to be sure.

Otaku Cafe
Someone named "Overcooled" at Metanorn decided to
try to recreate a couple of the recipes from
Shokugeki no Soma, and pronounces them "delicious".

I did try a little something from the show, which was to marinate pork in raw honey to tenderize it. I spiced it with sweet paprika, a little sage, garlic powder, salt, and white pepper, then cooked in a cast iron skillet in butter, searing first and then finishing in the oven on low heat. It came out tasting like a peach marinade, and I then put the whole thing over jasmin rice.
Surprisingly tasty and tender. I think I'll try the fried rice recipe and the Chaliapin steak, because these recipes seem to work pretty well even if the show really doesn't.

Arslan Senki
Novajinx describes Arslan Senki as "Vanadis without the chicks".
That sure sounds dull. I didn't watch this one, and now I know I didn't miss anything. Vanadis wasn't all that good, but it was the women who saved it from being a complete waste of time.

The link you showed, probably is superglue ... this one is quite amazing, and is definitely without superglue:

I can probably name several great series that have middling first episodes.
Manabi and
Shirobako come to mind. That said, those openers were at least not horrible. First episode permits to drop the Sturgeon's 90%, so I can see the rule's utility, as long as the passing criteria are properly relaxed.

Volcano and Stars
This is a really lovely picture.
In some ways I'm kind of sorry that our volcanoes here in the PNW produce ash instead of lava.
(Being on the receiving end of a volcanic ash-fall is a royal pain. It happened here in Beaverton in 1980, and if it never happens again in my lifetime that'll be just fine with me.)

I live about a mile from an extinct volcano (the Hornsby diatreme, which these days is just a huge hole in the ground). I'm glad it's extinct, but that is a pretty photo.

First, there was an unusual smell.
Then there was a loud bang.
So many Taco Bell jokes could be made. So... many...

Portland is one of the few cities in the world with a volcano within its city limits. It's extinct; it'll never erupt again. But it's still pretty awesome.

Albuquerque volcanoes are technically in town. The development haven't covered them, because of Petroglyph National Monument constraining the city.

Happy Birthday Chelsea Manning
Care to see something that will turn your stomach? Metafilter wishes Chelsea Manning a happy birthday, and calls him a "hero". (And a "patriot".)
(OK, to cases: Manning's name has been legally changed. Manning's sex has not been. But God help you if you use "he" or "him" to refer to Manning on Metafilter; the TransLiberationFront will swarm you.)
I was thoroughly disgusted and posted this:
I can't believe this post. Manning is a traitor and should have met a hangman's noose.
As you might imagine, it was deleted by the mods.
The liberals at Metafilter, like all American liberals, pride themselves on being tolerant and inclusive. In practice, what that means is they tolerate you if you agree with them, otherwise not. I mostly ignore hot-button political threads, but this one I couldn't let go by, even though I knew my comment wasn't going to survive.
At Metafilter, anyone who hates the US and does something that damages it is a hero. (They idolize Snowden, too.) I shouldn't let it get to me, but once in a while it's just too much.

But bacon will give you energy and stamina for the shopping. I suggest going to Baconfest first, and
getting one of these to go.
It's a wonderful world we live in when bacon on a stick is a real thing you can get at a ballpark.
