So I'm going through the first two episodes of Rio: Rainbow Gate looking for cheesecake for the top rotation. And I saw some things which suggested "Buy the DVD!" to me.
It's increasingly common in fan service shows for them to include nudity in the DVD release and to be unsubtle about censoring it in the broadcast. The deliberate unsubtlety is so that people know the DVDs will be better and will purchase them.
So for instance, in Saki, there were bathing sequences which were obscured by fog, which wasn't present on the DVD.
The question is whether Rio will be like that. I think it will, and I have some candidate shots below the fold. Even censored they're NSFW, by the way.
1Episode 04, when Rio and Rina get reacquainted after a long time apart, has quite a few moments that could potentially be uncensored, but it's Episode 07 that takes the (cheese)cake as far as that sort of thing goes.

One has to wonder just how GAINAX managed to put nipples on men in Gurren-Lagann. Could it be that it's not actually in broadcast regulations and all it takes is an act of courage?

That's a fetish, believe it or not. But the version favored most by those holding that fetish is for the tan to indicate wearing of a school swimsuit. Think "Kagura", for example. (Azumanga Daioh)
I'm not particularly interested in that fetish, myself.

I had another weird MOO/anime crossover dream last night. This time I won the war by using lots of Sanyas, the Orussian member of the Strike Witches.
What brought this up? The third BD of Strike Witches 2 hit the torrents a couple of days ago, and ep 6 had some uncensored nude pictures of her (and Hartmann). NSFW below the fold.

This happened somewhat early in a tough game. I owned half the board, but only had range 7, and the Crystal appeared on the far side, well out of my reach. So I kept an eye on it while it ravaged Meklar territory. Then eventually it left. I didn't know that could happen! I thought I'd just have to watch it until it got within range of my fleet, since the Meklar didn't seem to be doing anything about it.
I keep seeing this one, but it never happens to me! Is it possible for the player to get a derelict?
By the way, if you accidentally overbuild missile bases, is there any way to get rid of them again?
BD 3 of Asobi ni Iku Yo got delivered this morning by Fedex. So the big question on everyone's mind surely must be, do the Catheans really take a bunch of assistaroids into the sauna?

Although odd that it isn't strategically positioned from between the legs, which animals naturally do.
(I know the Furries used to argue continually about how a tail should be an extension of the spine. Another on the long list of things I wish I could un-know.)

I just noticed that today. In the BD version it's large enough so you can puzzle out nearly everything.
There's a scene where the Doggie woman is getting briefed on the situation relating to Eris, including getting dossiers on the humans who are dealing with her. This is from DIA, the US Defense Intelligence Agency, who are apparently in bed with her (figuratively speaking). She's been on Earth long enough to have built up quite the list of contacts, and she's buying cooperation from them by doling out advanced technology. Anyway, it was Jack from the CIA who captured Eris in ep 2, but she gave Eris to the DIA, and they were the ones wearing the isolation suits, one of whom told Eris she was going to die.
Back to this, one of the people the Doggie gets briefed on is Aoi. In the full-sized version, you can read it if you really struggle. The thing that he refers to is the "Family" section:
Mother: Dead Father: kidnapped and missing years ago. Confirmed remarried to Garblian (alien from planet Garble).
and the "Comment" section:
Step mother (Garblian): She looks to be in her later twenties. Half sister: She is physical and mentally older than Aoi caused by the Urashima effect in subspace.
The "Urashima effect" is how the Japanese refer to what we English speakers know as "Fitzgerald Contraction", at least as it applies to time contraction.
Anyway, it makes me wonder whether Aoi's father is human. If not, and if Aoi is actually half alien, that might explain how she got that strange ability.
Regardless, this is obviously a throw-away which likely lays groundwork for some future story in the book series, which may or may not have gotten used by this point.

Another thing:
If the step sister was born later, but is now older, then it means that Aoi has spent enough time moving at relativistic speeds to have lost a lot of time. That would necessarily have happened after she ceased living with her father, and wouldn't have happened to him. Makes me wonder where she went, and who took her there, and why she doesn't remember any of it.

I honestly don't mind nudity in anime, but it generally annoys me when it's just nudity for the sake of nudity. Like when they change the entire angle to include breasts - I don't see the need for that.

Well! We need to lighten up the mood around here, and what better way than with cheesecake?
So I dug into my library of justifiably-unwatched fan service shows that I haven't yet used for the top rotation, and found that there wasn't a lot left. I pretty much ran the collection for this most recent top rotation update. I ended up with Moetan and Zero no Tsukaima: Princess no Rondo.
The Ladies versus Butlers omakes are basically semi-animated cheesecake. Ten of the girls, in pairs, do a lot of posing as they gradually take off their clothes. This consumes about 3 minutes per omake.
I'd say that they are somewhat more ecchi than the Juuden-chan omakes, but the majority of the "animation" is camera zooms and pans over still images. And the Juuden-chan omakes made more sense in character terms, and were funny as well as ecchi. So while LvB made a good old try at surpassing the Juuden-chan omakes, I think the latter still holds the title.

The trap is Kaoru Daichi. The dojikko is Sanae Shikikagami The pettanko is Pina Sformklan Estoh. The loli is Mimina Ousawa and "she's older than she looks". She is in fact 19 and has spent most of her life in a hospital bed, which is why she's so small.

Sadly, there are an awful lot of photobooks and DVDs that use this same "forced" style, with awkward poses and uncomfortable looks. Instant turn-off for me; I like my cheesecake happy-sexy, without creepy dominance overtones.
It also looks like they used the same "sukoshi pocchari" model for reference for all the girls' stomachs and thighs, even the trap, which doesn't work. Maybe if they knocked them down a few pounds and used the deliciously soft Ai Shinozaki for reference... (link goes to bikini pics)

I'm with you. One of the reasons Bettie Page became a classic was that she looked completely comfortable and happy doing the things she was photographed doing.
Having the girl look bored is bad, but having her look afraid or unhappy is even worse. There isn't anything sexy about that.
