What is that cat doing in Moera?

Well, umm. Hmm. Okay, so, uh... Lessee...
I think I'm going to have to watch the last two episodes again.
I'll give them this: it was not in fact an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink Gravion ending. Actually, it reminds me a lot of the ending of Petite Princess Yucie, but I think Gainax did it better.
UPDATE: I just thought of a new word: "preincarnated".
