Win!

The secret of success is to sell your customers what they want to buy. This lot certainly understands that:

The July issue of Comic High! magazine will announce on Monday that an anime adaptation of Yumi Nakata's Chu-Bra!! manga has been green-lit. The magazine will provide one production sketch of the character Nayu Hayama, and say that more information will provided in future issues. The publisher Futabasha describes the manga as "middle school girls x underwear = slightly H girls comedy."

The story centers on Nayu, a middle school girl who shocks her schoolmates on the first day of school by wearing black lace panties. She likes this kind of underwear, and she tries to "spread the word on the merits of [these kinds of] underwear" via an underwear club with her schoolmates, who are worried about their bodies' development and which underwear to choose.

An anime about a middle school underwear club? I'm there!

(Ye Gods. This is the worst pandering since Ikki Tousen.)

UPDATE: Washi found a bunch of raw scans of the manga online.

1 Interesting; it looks like mine only works in browsers with real Unicode support. Amazon doesn't URL-encode their links, and Safari is happy to leave them as-is, where Firefox will helpfully encode them for you.

In fact, Safari will silently decode the URLs, so that I couldn't see any difference between yours and mine until I either launched Firefox or viewed the source of the page. They were identical when I cut-and-pasted.

2 One for Pixy: my later comment appears to have traveled back in time several hours...

4 I wanted to say something snarky here, but I'll be damned if I can think of anything snarky enough to do the concept justice.

It goes without saying I'll be tuning in.  *facedesk*

5 Hmm, based on the cover art of the mangaka's available works, I think I'd rather see an anime version of Cafe Delicious...

6 The cover art for the two volumes of "As the goddess says" suggest that all is not sweetness and light in Mekami Village. In volume 1, Our Heroine enthusiastically reveals her pantsu to the audience, but in volume 2, the chibi-goddess appears to be ordering her to lift her legs to provide the required fan-service.

7 I'd love to know who picked up the rights. (It sounds like a natural for Studio Fantasia.)

8 J's first search string doesn't work correctly. This one does.

She definitely knows how to draw cute girls, I'll say that for her.

Here's another really ecchi picture from the manga:

(This is also a test to see if the times are straightened out now.)

Rats, nope.

Pixy, my post just now was 1 hour behind. It says 4:59PM and it was actually 5:59PM.

It's daylight savings time now. Did you include that when you set the server time?

Posted by: Steven Den Beste at June 21, 2009 05:02 PM (+rSRq)

12 No, the software doesn't handle daylight savings.
