Wikipedia mascot

I think this is cool: Wikipedia has a mascot, apparently named "Wikipe-tan". She has blue hair and wears jigsaw-puzzle pieces in her hair, apparently as a reference to the "globe divided into jigsaw pieces" logo for Wikipedia.

(And let's see if the problem has been fixed.)

UPDATE: Apparently so. Thanks for the hard work, Pixy!

UPDATE: The kanji on the piece in her hair is 祖 which is pronounced so and means "ancestor, forefather, progenitor".

The one on her chest says ワイ (except that the second one is small, a character I don't have available to copy-and-paste) and I think it's pronounced "wee", which is to say it's the first syllable of "wikipedia".

UPDATE: There's really quite a gallery there, and it hits all the fetishes: meido, goth-loli, school girl, navy, bikini, school swimsuit, nekomimi...

1 It's going to get to the point where *everything* has its own -tan.

Hmmm... Pixy?

2 Did you notice there's an OS-tan article, too?

The OS-tans have been around for a long time, but it's pretty amazing that someone went to that level of effort to write a Wikipedia article about it.

Their fifteen minutes of fame, I guess.

4 We definitely need a munu-tan and a meenu-tan.

5 Don't look at me. I can't draw to save my life.

7 Well, if *I* draw something, we're *all* goners...

Well, I think the key is to start thinking about what mu/meenu-tan should look like.

She's built on Minx, which already lays out most of her personality (and could give here some animalistic traits, given it's an old spelling of Mink), but then again I also think I see her as a bit of a meganekko. Those two traits aren't often combined. I'm already seeing a red-haired tsundere (with the standard-issue twin-pigtails) in my head, maybe with the glasses. Maybe not though, if it turns out to be too much.

Her food-kryptonite would obviously have to be Cherry Pie.

Given her Aussie origins, she'd probably need to carry some of those traits in her clothing. Maybe 5 7-pointed stars and one 5-pointed star mixed into her clothing or hair.

Hmmm... Then again maybe I'm giving this too much thought.

As long as she has a nice figure and a smile, everything else is gravy.

10 Well, being a -tan, you probably don't want to go too crazy. I think it's better to leave the more curvatious variations as "unofficial."

11 Or we could just cheat and use the original Pixy Misa.

12 ...and get sued. (Someone owns her.)

13 Well, she was the property of Pioneer. Then she became the property of Geneon. And now that they're out of the business, I have no idea who holds her leash.

She belongs to AIC, the Japanese company that did the production of "Magical Project S" and "Magical Girl Pretty Sammy".

Mee.nu needs to settle on a theme before we start moe-ing it up. We have lab flasks full of colored liquids on one logo, and baby blocks on the other, so would Meenu-tan be a baby with a science lab, or a meganekko with a diaper fetish?

D'oh. I don't know why I was forgetting AIC in the equation. I'm gonna chalk it up to 5 straight hours of Call of Duty mulitplayer.
