Umisho

If you're looking for a fan service romp, apparently this year's choice was Umisho. It's a sports show about a girls' swim team. How can you go wrong?

It sounds like the kind of show that Mediablasters loves to release, but I bet ADV gets it.

1 It must have improved after I dropped it, because there wasn't anything to it OTHER than fanservice when I was watching.

2 What, exactly, is wrong with that?

3 Nothing.  But surprises are nice, too!

4 I loved Umisho. It rules. It's a shame that there isn't more of it.

There's nothing wrong with fanservice, but I'll admit that I like a little bit of plot, character development, yadda in my shows.

("What about Ikkitousen, Wonderduck?"  Shut up.)

6 How am I ever going to catch up on a year out of the industry? Swimming anime now? What's next, a show about baking bread?

I think Jason had a good point: if you're going to do a show about fan service, then a show about a girls' swimming team is close to being the best you could hope for.

A show about a bathhouse would be even better, of course, for fan service opportunities. (Ahem, UFO Princess Valkyrie)

...and Love Hina pokes it's head out from under a rock, looks around, and goes back to sleep.

9 Love Hina was a girl's dormitory, not a bathhouse.

10 ...which is why it went back to sleep.

11 Here's a fanservice show just tailored for you, Wonderduck: Ahiru no Quack.

I'm not sure if you're joking here and I'm missing it, but...

16 I suspect 'twere a joke.

Heck, this season brings us a show about fermentation.
