TV Tropes -- Useful Notes

DO NOT FOLLOW THIS LINK. It'll cost you several hours. I followed a link from my refers and it had a link to the History of English, which was fascinating. So when I reached the bottom I saw that it was part of a section called "Useful Notes" and went up to it. Big mistake.

There was an article about military weapons. There was a page about Mark Twain. There was a page about Yagyu Jubei. Oh, dear; is it after midnight already?

2 CURSES!!!! I just lost 2 hours to that stupid link (and it's subsequent link-links). Did you not realize, good Sir, that "DO NOT FOLLOW THIS LINK" is irresistable bait to some of us (much like NSFW), and would result in the ruthless yanking away of several hours of our lives? You should put "DO NOT FOLLOW THIS LINK... OR ELSE." Then we would be properly discouraged.

4 xkcd even have a comic on this very subject.  Once you start, you just cannot stop.

5 I dunno, the material does not seem to hold my attention. Some of the anime tropes were amusing, but this is just random.

6 Try looking up any anime title...  and follow the links.

7 Ohhhhh BigFire, you are one devious rascal. But fortunately, I have already SEEN all the good xkcd comics. For sure. Without question.... But I better go back and check just to make sure. AHHHHH.

8 'Good XKCD comic'.  Isn't that redundant?

11 "It is dark.  You may be eaten by a trope."

I escaped after only half an hour... this time.

Somehow, the appeal of TV Tropes lost its hold on me for the session whenever I get to "Upper Class Twit" and see someone put G.W.'s name in it, or when I see the gratitious slam against Jim Inhofe in "Older than They Think" because Al Gore apparently was not the first one to believe in the delusion that man-made CO2 is creating global warming...As if the age of hypothesis was suppose to prove its validity (In which case, Thomas Malthus would have been proven long ago.).

14 Whew!  Escaped after 30 minutes.  And with a winner of a line (under Western Europe):  "Well I guess it wouldn't work to call them Lesbonian."
