1 I know this is a dumb show, but damn, I never get tired of looking at her.

5 I've heard those called many things, but headphones is a new one for me. I don't see the reference..

6 I can't ever get past the idea that her ears probably smell like feet.  She never takes the headphones off, and every set I've ever owned get hot and sweaty.

These kinds of character affectations have usually been really silly. This one isn't any stupider than Hestia's ribbon, after all, though perhaps the headphones aren't as conducive to producing fan service.

What I always wondered was how she avoided destroying pillows when she's sleeping.

Of course, the answer to all of these kinds of questions is, "Shut up and look at the boobies!"

8 It detracts from the character design. Sure, anime characters generally have some sort of affectation. Like Naru's 'antenna' in Love Hina. But somebody who wears headphones 24/7, even when swimming, or in the shower? This is about the stupidest affectation I've ever seen, and I've seen a LOT of anime. Nobody who was even sane would do that.

Super Sonico wasn't originally intended to be an anime character. She was the mascot character for a music festival in 2006, and at the time I don't think they expected her to become a phenomenon. But lightning struck (or big boobs did) and the rest is history.

10 I suppose you can take her always wearing them as a bit of a joke, but I think they could have limited the headphone wearing to merely 18 hours a day or so, without it ceasing to be a trademark.
Maybe I'm just curious what her ears look like.
