Summer 2015

I thought I'd take a quick look at the latest chart for the upcoming season. This is not comprehensive, by any means, but there were a few entries that were noteworthy.

Jitsu wa Watashi wa -- is about a boy who has a crush on a girl who happens to be a vampire. (And, presumably, bites him a lot.) Man, haven't we seen this before? (Rosario to something...)

Gakkou Gurashi -- Four girls decide to spend the night at their school, and just by chance that's when the Zombie Apocalypse happens. gad...

There's going to be another season of Cinderella Girls. Which I won't be watching.

There's going to be a new Dragon Ball series, placed after the Majin Buu arc. I think I'm not interested.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri -- sounds bizarre. A squad of soldiers from the JSDF are transported to a fantasy world to fight a dragon.

There's going to be a sequel to Gatchaman Crowds. Which I won't be watching.

Monster Musume is on the list. (Which I probably won't be watching.)

Charlotte features a boy with special powers who is trying to keep it secret. Then he, and all the others, get revealed. This might be cool but probably will suck.

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Takutsu no Sekai -- is noteworthy because the publicity picture is of a grinning girl who is stark naked except for a pair of panties on her head.

The basic story is that serious puritanism has been imposed on the country by law: no coarse language, no suggestive activities, and so on. Our Hero gets pulled into a secret group of teenage terrorists, whose terrorism seems to involve streaking and other attempts to scandalize the mundanes. The naked girl in the publicity picture is probably the leader of the group. It's listed as "comedy, ecchi" and likely will involve a lot of fogging, branches, and other forms of censorship for broadcast, removed on the BDs. I dunno about this. J.C. Staff?

There's going to be another "Working" series. (This one has three exclamation points in the title instead of two.)

There's going to be a sequel to To Love-Ru.

Yay! Bikini Warriors!!!

There's going to be yet another Prizma-Illya sequel

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan -- has some sort of story, but it's screaming "HAREM!" at the top of its lungs.

Venus Project is yet another idol show, this time in a science fiction setting. It appears to be a teaser series for a computer game. The girls are shapely and wear skimpy clothing. I will not be watching this.

Except for Bikini Warriors and maybe the one about naked terrorists, I don't see anything here that reaches out to grab me.

1 Jitsu wa Watashi wa isn't quite what you think.  While there's a little bit of fanservice, it's actually one of the best straight comedies in Manga right now.  Enough that I actually have read up to current on it, and I really don't read Manga.  The series will either work or fail as an anime on its reaction faces.  That isn't a joke, it's what makes the series.  (And the Demon Principal, which I really hope they don't screw up)
I think I remember hearing about  Gakkou Gurashi before.  It's it a SoL set in the Zombie Apoc?
There's stuff I'm looking forward to.  Especially "darling" on the receiving end of his house guests.

2 Odd that the chart uses the first-season description of Crowds for season two. I guess there's not a lot of information about the new story or additional characters yet. This is probably the only thing I'll actively watch, although I may skim a few others.

The description for the Seven Deadly Sins OVA doesn't sound right, either, so I'm guessing that the only information anyone has about it is that it focuses on Ban.

About Nanatsu no Taizai:

I'm sure that's what the OVA will be about.

4 Oh, one more thing:

5 Gate's description isn't quite right.

Based on some LNs.

6 I was cutting corners because I didn't think the series deserved more than one sentence.

7 Oh, sorry, I thought that was the description that you saw.

It's still a needless-harem show, so while I plan to watch it to see if they get any of the military stuff right, I doubt that I'd recommend it to anybody.

8 Describing the plot of Gakkou Gurashi spoils it. The manga starts out with Yuki Takeya as a cheerful school girl who is a member of her school's "Campus Life Club", alongside her friends Kurumi Ebisugawa and YÅ«ri Wakasa and their teacher Megumi. It looks like cute girls doing cute SOL things.
