They seem to be going out of their way to make this series rhyme with the previous one. Myself, I'd rather they stopped doing that and started telling a new story.
Spoilers and NSFW below the fold.
Ep 4 seems to mainly be a rhyme of part of ep 5 from the original series. Fortunately, they have left out Miyafuji fondling the breasts of the other women. Rather, it's about trying to fly fast. In SWep5, Shirley tuned her P-51 to make it especially fast, and set a new speed record while flying it.
This time we start with her again trying to tune up the Merlin engine in her P-51. And she's wearing... well... not very much. We get to see her rabbit ears. Then we see this:

Anyway, an experimental prototype of a new striker has been delivered to the squadron from Karlsland. It's an ME-262V1 jet.
Shirley sees it and wants to be the first to fly it, and ends up arguing with Barkhorn. Somewhere in the interregnum Shirley got a promotion, and now she's the same rank as Barkhorn, and there seems to be a huge rivalry between them. As a result, they fight all the time.
That's one change in the interpersonal relations. Another is that Perrine is still unpleasant to be around, but no longer specifically snipes at Miyafuji. Seems like the events of the last two episodes of the first series have defused her hostility.
Another thing that comes out is that Miyafuji is a good cook, and everyone likes her food. In the first ep of this series, at one point Shirley and Lucchini are laying on a beach after a battle, and Lucchini bitches about the food and says she wants to eat Miyafuji's cooking again. And in this episode Miyafuji prepares several meals and everyone seems to like them.
There's a beef stew, in particular, in response to which Shirley says, "I don't know much about cooking, but everything you make is always great, Miyafuji. Did you use fish stock?" And yup, it turns out she used bonito broth.
Anyway, the episode is about the Me-262, and the flight performance is everything you could hope for. But it's got some serious bugs and damned near kills Barkhorn.
Another fun episode, with lots of Shirley fan service (this is never a bad thing) and not very much seriousness. And one scene which virtually commands us to buy the DVDs. Sheesh; in a series which is known for its closeup panty shots, this one takes the cake -- except that they censored it.
