I assume (no pun intended) that the last 4 shots are not "zoomed in"?  In which case, that's the most..... er, ......... "zoomed-in" panty shots I've ever seen.  I don't think even Ikki Toussen comes close.

2 Believe it or not, the High School Girls manga is tremendously popular with girls in Japan.  In fact, I was introduced to it by a female assistant of a female manga artist I know.  She went to an all-girls school and said the manga was terrifyingly real.  She had brought in the latest volume and everyone pounced on it, reading bits aloud and laughing like drains.
I don't know what to think about that.

5 I was told that the bonding in the "private" Japanese high school was much more like what you see in the European or British system than what you see in the states. The "old boy/girl" group is supposedly based on the high school not the college. Apparently the academic grind is tougher in high school than it is after to you get pass the entrance exams and get into a college or university.

6 The academic grind is indeed tough in high schools...for those who intend to go on to university.  Many do not, and there are entire "loser" schools where no one really expects to bother, and Girl's High is obviously one of those.  Er...as far as its documentary-like realism goes, anyway.
There was some goofy SF anime a while back that was laughably (and deliberately) loaded with panty shots (don't remember the name of it) but somehow the way they're handled in Girl's High is more...naughty.  Then again, a major premise of Girl's High is that the "feminine" front girls put on in mixed society breaks down completely when they are gathered together in mobs and surrounded by nothing but other girls.  So you could say the blatant panty shots are simply showing that in reality, they have no real shame despite the reaction they give out in "real" society to a flash of underwear.

7 Toren, I think you might be remembering Kirameki Project, which features Princess Nene's panties in a starring role. (If that's not it, I want to know what is!)

8 Well I went over to my Netflix account and managed to view the first episode. Despite the panty shots I was laughing my ass off. I've worked part time as a janitor in ye olden days and I can affirm that girls are messier than boys under a lot of conditions. In the past this conversation was passed around. Mother to daughter about her dorm room, "Don't you ever clean this floor?" "Only when it gets so sticky it pulls our socks off."

9 I just looked through my shelves of anime and can't find that series.  I thought it might be Aika or Kite, but it's not since my copies of those are still unopened.  I know it dates from the hand-drawn days, and I vaguely remember the heroine is a girl who works for a company that retrieves stuff from under the ocean (??).  It obviously was forgettable, but I remember the panty shot count was through the roof, clearly deliberately.  Much use of midget cameramen.  I seem to remember a scene where the Bad Guy sends his team of mini-skirted machine gun toting death babes after the heroine, and even though the skirts were so short you could have seen their panties if you were looking at the girls from above, the director still made sure there were plenty of opportunities to get the full maru-pan treatment.
Maybe someone else can dredge up the name.

Toadold, I worked part-time at a drive-in theater when I was in high school, and the women's bathroom was always the clear winner in the squalor sweepstakes, especially after a dusk-til-dawn.  We would actually go in with a hose and start at the ceiling.  Girl's High seems to have a pretty realistic portrayal of the attitude of most girls (among themeselves) about their...er...feminine hygenie products.

That definitely sounds like one of the Aika series, and it may well be the new one. Maybe I should post some frame grabs from that. (I have, in the past, but I could do it again.)

But I thought you told me one time you were going to get Kirameki Project, based on the fact that I seemed so enthusiastic about it -- which I am.

Actually, as described, I'm sure you're talking about the original Aika series. I think it was pretty much the first panty-overload series. Najica Blitz Tactics was even more overloaded, but it isn't about underwater recovery. Same studio, though. Studio Fantasia, yay!

Kirameki Project is also that same studio. (Which is why the yay!)

I'm not even sure where my copies of the original Aika are; probably in a crate around here somewhere.

The girl commandos in Aika were called "Delmos", an anagram of "Models"...

If that's the series, then surely you must remember the magic bra. It was a biological symbiote that belonged to Aika, and when she needed it, it transformed itself, and her, and she became a super-saiyajin. One of the villains was a woman who had her own symbiote, which ordinarily took the form of panties. She became a monstrosity at the end of the first story line for reasons I won't go into.

13 That's it, Aika.  Not sure why my copy is unopened, maybe I bought two.  I can be sloppy that way, and I sell off any anime I don't feel I'll ever watch again, which is probably why the opened copy was missing.
I do have Kirameki Project.  In fact, I came across it during my search.  I just haven't watched it yet.  So much anime, so little time.  And I'm going through a period now where I'm watching very little of it.  Macademy Wasshoi is one of the few I'm keeping up on, sort of.  I've only watched four.
It's funny about Girl's High.  I only just realized I've not yet seen the anime, although I have the set.  I've only read the comics.  Seems like the anime is pretty faithful to the original, though.  I definitely recognize some of the shots you posted.

14 Well I watched some more of it. Best I could give it would be about a 2.75. maybe the whole thing would make it to a 3 but I just couldn't stay interested. Your mileage may vary.
