Stella Jogakuin C3-bu -- ep 04

Well, that was interesting, and forever ends the speculation that they're trying to remake Girls und Panzer. I really liked it, and it should represent a significant character change for Yura. But it sure wasn't anything like what we'd seen in the previous three episodes.

But I've tried a couple of times now to summarize it and I can't do it. So you'll have to watch it to find out what's going on.

Also, next episode is swimsuits!

UPDATE: You know what it reminded me of? Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi!

UPDATE: Novajinx liked it.

1 Because it's Gainax.

2 Well, that certainly changed the nature of the series and was a big increase to the overall quality.

Though this went a bit more Haruhi than expected, but Abenobashi makes sense as well.  Visual style actually has a lot of similarities to Abenobashi, though not as catchy of an OP.

And Yura might have just altered the outcome of the Gempei War.  It'll be interesting to see what's going on.

3 Or the man she "saved" was Gochi-in no Tajima.  (Mostly for the arrow splitting)

4 I wonder if they're going to make any more of Yura's ability, or if that was the end of it? If she can really alter her surroundings like that, and drag others along with her, then battles she's involved in could become very strange.

Type-Moon called...

Good episode, though.

6 I have a sad suspicion that what happened in this episode will be a one time thing, justified as being the interaction between Yura and the power inherent in where it happened and who it happened with. But I can hope that the show is going to do something interesting with it going forward.

7 On the other hand,

8 Actually, I'll tell you more under the spoiler tag.

In the end, Steven's hunch about Abenobashi may be more correct than anyone thought, .

9 WTF was that?

10 Now you see why I had trouble writing about it.

11 God, I love Gainax sometimes.

12 When Gainax is being Gainax, they're something truly special.  Even if it's a lot of WTF moments.  When they're being themselves, they just make the experience fun & unpredictable.

Posted by: sqa at July 30, 2013 01:25 AM (ehYGU)

13 Well, it was certainly unpredictable.  I don't see how they can do that and then not make more of it.  Of course, that's my westerner story logic talking...

14 Guys, please. This is manga based, isn't it? Can't someone just go to Batoto or whatever and read all the spoilers?

Posted by: Pete Zaitcev at July 30, 2013 08:05 PM (RqRa5)

15 Why?

Posted by: Wonderduck at July 30, 2013 08:42 PM (7E0qe)

16 Ep 4 was almost 100% anime-original, though this was the time that Yura was giving the gun.  Just from a store.  This was a tad different.
