Based on my log files, it looks like something bad happened about 2 hours ago. My network connection is fine, but all attempts at incoming access to my server have stopped working -- or at least, I'm not getting any. (And if you're having a hard time seeing the top rotation picture, this is why.)
I'm wondering whether something weird happened to my DNS entry. Could someone do a DNS on "denbeste.nu" and post the result? It ought to resolve to 70.90.130.45, but I bet it doesn't.
I tried accessing denbeste.nu using a proxy and got a timeout. That's quite disturbing.
UPDATE: I changed the banner template so that it accesses the top rotation picture using the direct IP instead of my URL. And now I'm seeing hits. Something must have happened to my DNS entry. I wonder what?

Also, from my office, I can't connect to your server by IP address; the traceroute stops at te-9-1-ur03.beaverton.or.bverton.comcast.net (68.87.216.30). I can reach it from dotclue, though, which is in a co-lo a few miles away, even though the traceroute goes through the same host. Downright peculiar.

DNS Central's web site doesn't answer, either. So apparently they stopped reissuing records last night some time, and my traffic here trickled off to nothing as existing records expired. Bummer.
I wonder what happened to them? If they were going to go OOB, you'd think they'd have warned all of us so we could make other arrangements. So presumably it's an unexpected problem of some kind, and they're working on it. I guess I just wait and see. If it doesn't resolve in a couple of days, I'll have to get more active.
In the mean time, if any of you do feel the need to access the stuff on my server, you should be able to get to it using the direct IP.

I don't have. And the site on which account management is handled also doesn't resolve.
Looks like they had some sort of massive hardware outage. Presumably they're working on it.

What makes me feel the most helpless is that I don't have the slightest idea where to look in order to find out what's going on. Is this temporary? Or did they shut down, and not bother telling us? If it's a problem, how long until they think it'll be fixed again?
I'm not getting any traffic except for the top rotation, and it's been more than 12 hours now.
The fact that the DNS servers are responding to pings would suggest hope, except that maybe it doesn't. "ns1.dnscentral.com" resolves to 204.200.195.130. But if you reverse-DNS that, it comes up "east.daze.net". For me, a traceroute to it goes through Verio in Virginia.
"ns2.dnscentral.com" resolves to 213.198.89.225. A reverse DNS on that yields "ns-frankfurt.daze.net". A traceroute to that goes through Germany.
DNS Central is supposed to be located in Mission Viejo, CA. Is this a problem? Damned if I know. I looked up some of my old email received from them (mainly yearly billing notices) and one of them included this at the bottom: "Mail handling by Daze Networks Request Tracking System - ASK2RT"
I think I might try visiting "daze.net" to see if there's any info there.

The official page for it is www.daze.net and that doesn't respond right now, either. I'm doing some googling, and finding out that the company has several businesses -- and I haven't found a site associated with them yet that is responding. I have the feeling that they've gone tits up, and maybe I should start looking for a new DNS service. Any suggestions?
I started using DNS Central because that's what NuNames recommended in 2001 when I registered "denbeste.nu". Maybe I should take a look at their site to see who they recommend now.
