Punchline -- ep 3

Well, things are starting to get really crazy, and it may actually turn out that this show is worthy to be Noitamina after all. Loads of spoilers below the fold.

Meika turns out to be a robot. She owns the house free and clear. There was a world famous successful inventor who originally owned the place, and he built her twenty years ago and taught her many things. 8 years ago he died and she inherited everything.

As to how a robot can own anything, well, she hacked the government systems and they think she's human.

The inventor, who Meika calls "Grampa", built her precisely so that she could support "Justice Punch" when it saved the world, come the day. And the day has come.

There's an asteroid on a collision course with the Earth and it's due to strike near midnight on December 31, about a week from now. That's the one we keep seeing. The governments of the Earth have been denying there's any danger. There's a political activist group, and perhaps terrorist organization, called "Q-mei" and their leader died a few years ago. Yuuta suspects that it's the leader that took over Yuuta's body.

Meanwhile, at this point I'd bet that it's going to turn out that the cat is the spirit of Meika's Grampa.

Other strange things: An armed man in a mask tried to steal the bear cub this episode. Some strange guy in a costume showed up and fought him; probably Yuuta's body. It's all getting weirder and weirder and it's no longer so clear just who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. It could be that the cat is trying to help Yuuta get stronger (he got another level this episode) as part of the process of preventing the asteroid from killing everyone.

The other two girls living at the house are now in on the secret of Strange Juice, or whatever it was.

And yet another mystery: the bear cub got slashed, but a few minutes later the cut was gone. Could the bear cub be another of the Professor's inventions?

So now they're really telling a story, but it's a crazy story -- and that's fine, just as long as there is one.

I do know what's coming next: Supergroup Punch Justice. Meika is going to equip the other two women with super powers.

UPDATE: Oh, another thing: They're dialing waaay back on the fan service. There was only one brief fan service shot and it wasn't very explicit. I don't remember a single panty flash this time, either.
