Potemayo 1: Guchuko labu!

Well, if I can't have a Guchuko plush, at least I can rasterize a picture of her and make a static SWF out of it:

(I wonder if that'll work?)

What blows me away about vectorized images like this is how small they are. The PNG file I traced was 186K. The SWF file is about 5K.

UPDATE: I realized I could animate it a bit.

UPDATE: There's a marvelous clip from ep 6 of the show, featuring Guchuko and Kyo's mother, here. (Actually, the second clip is pretty good, too, but the first one is a hoot.)

Nice work, Steven!  Needs more strapping tape and laser beams, though.  And a minced refridgerator, too.

Those things weren't in the source picture I traced from. And I can't actually draw to save my life.

As it was, that took about five hours. It's fun, but it's also slow and painstaking work.

I guess it woudn't be too difficult to make the laser beams flash brightly every once in a while, but I wanted to stay true to the original picture.

Fair enough; I'm much the same way.  Give me a T-square and a triangle (or a CAD program... I wish those had been readily available when I was in grad school!), and I can draft you anything you'd like. 

But hand me a blank sheet of paper and a pencil and ask me to draw?  *pfft*
