Pete Speaks

Being on the receiving end of many recommendations taught me that most of them are useless.

Ain't that that truth. (In Japanese, "Deshou, ne?")

UPDATE: Meanwhile, James has pictures of the coolest theme park on the planet.

UPDATE: It's late, and I need to get to bed, but I found a couple more links in the meantime. First:

The LOLWUT of Suzumiya Haruhi. I won't describe it; it has to be seen. (via)

A preview of the spring season. Lots of titles, most of which don't interest me in the slightest. Two series about wolf girls, though. And something called "To Love-ru" which will probably be a complete waste of time except for utterly spectacular fan service. (It sounds like the mutated offspring of Urusei Yatsura mixed with Girls Bravo.)

3 The recommendations given to me seem to be working out reasonably well. No real duds so far. Of course, I was very specific in what kinds of things I wanted to watch (and I'm also not very picky), so maybe that had something to do with it.

4 They better do work, considering the amount of effort I expended on them. That said, it was a solicited recommendation with a discovery phase, narrowing the field, and so on.
