Olympic Pole Dancing?

Pole dancing as an Olympic event? I'm ready for that.

So what are the arguments against it?

1. It's titillating. Um, and Olympic women's swimming isn't? Have you seen the sheer swimsuits they wear now? Or Olympic Women's gymnastics, with all the poses of the girls (not women) with their legs wide spread? Let  alone "beach volleyball" where the rules require female competitors to wear bikinis. NEXT!

2. It's weird. And "synchronized swimming" isn't? Or "rhythmic gymnastics"? There are a lot of really weird gymnastic events. This would fit right in.

3. It isn't dignified. And ping pong is?

4. It isn't a traditional event. How about BMX Biking? That ain't very traditional, either.

Hey, what the hell? Why not give it a try?

UPDATE: Women are actually permitted to wear one-piece swimsuits in Beach Volleyball, but none of them ever do.

1 Nothing wrong with a one-piece swimsuit, as long as it's just a bikini bottom.
