Nekomimi

J has been messing around with the character designer for Champions Online, and posts pictures of some of his creations. Seems he got infected by Shamus. But what's Ubu's excuse?

Oh, dear; am I missing out again?

UPDATE: Ubu and Dr. Heinous have posted pictures of some of their character designs.

1 *cough*  I'm assuming you don't want the extended rant on why Champions Online, and Cryptic, are the worst thing to happen to the Champions game line since "New Millenium" AKA "Grim and Gritty Power to Shoot Guns!"?

2 That sounds like an "And get off my lawn" rant, and yeah, I think we can do without it. But thanks anyway. (heh)

3 The gaming Borg... And I thought the love of 3D women would insulate J.

4 My excuse is 2-fold:
1. I already did that a year ago on City of Heroes:  Nekomune, a large-breasted catgirl.  Also,on the villian side, I had  Ito Nobunaga, an anime otaku bent on world domination.  He thinks he's a descendant of the famous swordsman . . . and didn't realize that Japanese family names come first.

2. I tried again with CO; this time I was going to create Koyomi from Yokuwakaru Gendimahou.  It... didn't work. If there was a dress option, I couldn't find it. Female heroes must be dressed in skintight outfits; apparently it's a union rule.   Not only that, but the breast size isn't very adaptable (she's, uh, got great eyes.)  The result turned out wrong and too ugly to play, though I've not deleted her yet.

5 Ubu, it's possible to miss entire sections of the CO character generator. In this case, it sounds like you didn't notice the pulldown menu at the top of the legs tab that lets you select from: tights & skin, pants, hips wear & gear, short skirts, medium skirts, long skirts, beast legs, and robotic legs (both/left/right). Also, the body mass slider has a significant impact on perceived breast size once you drop it below about 20%. You can make a plausible young-teen heroine, if you customize the body shape carefully.

Of course, it takes a good four hours to really learn your way around the character generator, so most non-obsessives won't.

6 Shamus went to a lot of effort and created a character he calls "Concealed Carrie" (I just love that name!) who definitely looks like a young teenage girl. So apparently it can be done.

7 Yep, missed it. And I hunted and hunted for the thing.  Nor did I see anything usable as a dress top. In her case, she dresses like she just stepped out of a Disney cartoon involving ersatz princesses riding pumpkin carriages.

Anyway, I recreated her with help from j and Dr. Heinous, and I'm letting COH patch so I can get screen shots of them too.

8 There, I've added mine as well.
