Negi Potter

There's going to be a live-action Negima series. It'll start broadcasting next autumn. They've already cast all the girls. Care to see them? (Scroll down)

I can't read any of the labels! Rats. What I want to know is, which one is the ghost? Which one is the vampire? And which one is the android?

Lessee, Evangeline MacDowell is #26:

The robot is #10:

And the ghost is #1:

Don't really live up to expectations, do they?

UPDATE: By the way, they blew it. The ghost is supposed to wear an older style of uniform.

1 It's labeled as a drama, which suggests they'll downplay the special effects and focus on the relationships (with plenty of time spent on comic schoolgirl antics, of course). I doubt Tatsumiya (#18) will be doing much gunplay, but it would be nice if she at least has big guns.

Evidence against them doing anything resembling a straight adaptation is that the well-developed and extremely skilled girl ninja (#20) is being played by a 13-year-old. Cute as a button, but not combat-ready.

Hey, it's got to be better than Steel Angel Kurumi Pure...

2 ANYTHING is better than Kurumi live-action. Good god...

I don't think they're downplaying the special effects for any sort of plot reason - rather, I mean, it's Japanese live-action and thus has a budget like an amateur film club. That's not to say that nothing good ever gets done in the TV drama format - GTO was as good as the anime or manga, and that's pretty darned good - but expectations are low, low, low.

3 With a cast this big, it's hard to see how they'll have any money for anything else.

4 The age of the actresses ranges from 12 to 24!

5 Aisaka's old uniform nothing, where are Chachamaru's antennae?  Or Chisame's glasses?  Guh, this looks like it's just a money-sponge for the uber-fanboys.

6 Right!  And they should be ashamed.  Next thing you know, they'll start making really lame live-action promo's for Melancholy, with an actress that sounds even less like Aya Hirano than Wendee Lee.

Oh, wait.....
