Mouretsu Pirates -- BD 2

I think I need to buy this. A rip of it came by and I took a look. The second BD is four episodes, 03-06. That covers the Lightning 11 arc, and I was curious about something. Spoilers below the fold.

UPDATE: I just ordered BD 2 and BD 3.

Odette II is on a practice cruise, full of high school girls. Their original orbit was to go around Tau Ceti, around the outside of the planet "Sand of the Red Star", back around Tau Ceti returning to Sea of the Morning Star.

At a certain point (beginning of episode 5) Marika suggests they change their flight path to stay on the sun side of Sand of the Red Star instead of passing over its night side.

It's always bugged me that the computer orbital plots they show at various times through there had the orbit wrong more than right. Usually they showed the orbit inside of Sand of the Red Star before ep 5, and outside of it later, which is exactly wrong.

On the BD they fixed that. Here's an example. This is at the beginning of the sequence, broadcast version:

It shows the orbit inside of Sand of the Red Star. In the BD version they fixed it:

There were eight or nine cases of computer graphics showing their flight plan at various times, and they fixed them all.

There were also a couple of examples of Engrish:

That one got fixed, too:

But this one didn't. From the BD:

1 DiGi said they fixed up iM@S in weird ways too. It seems like the thing they do. I remember that Rocket Girls were changed quite a bit as well.

2 Yeah, home release corrections like this aren't particularly uncommon these days - I mean, they actually spelt Materialise wrong in the first broadcast episode of My-ZHiME if my memory serves me correctly...

3 Another thing they did: I listened to some of the audio. Some parts of that sounds a lot cleaner. There were places in like ep 3 in the Odette II when they originally put a bit of reverb in, but on the BD they took that back out again.

4 I wonder if it's the result of feedback from the American translators, or just from Japanese fans nitpicking it on message boards?

5 We're not sure which systems on the enemy ship she was attacking, nor how. If she was able to set the mobile phones in their pockets to "vibrate", that screen display may in fact be spelled correctly...

6 I knew someone would go there. I just knew it. Bleah.
