Master of Epic

Holy Cow! Someone subbed all of Master of Epic! I'm downloading it now... I want to know what becomes of the Waragecha Five, or whatever they were called.

It's particularly of interest to me because Kaneda Tomoko is one of the most important voices in it. ...and I don't think she's working any more, sob...

UPDATE: Why was I so enthused about this before? Man, it's terrible.

1 Cool, I was looking for more at the time but it never arrived.

2 I always wondered what it was that you saw in the show. I mean, you don't play MMOs in the first place...

Now I'm wondering, myself.

It dragged. I got about halfway through the second ep thistime and gave up on it after I realized I was madly skipping looking for anything good.

The Waragecha Five are the best thing in the show, but they're not a very big part of it. And they're pretty much a one-trick pony.

The second best thing in the show is the short guy with the funny ears and Krillin's voice, especially when he's doing the manzai thing with the tall woman with Bulma's voice.

But they're not enough to save it.

4 Watched a couple of random later episodes myself.

Yeah, it DOES drag, which is death for a show made out of random comedy clips. They only have half as many jokes as they really need and drawing out the ones they do have spreads the humor too thin. Production values aren't particularly good either.

Not that it's a terrible concept. Lucky Star ran a few jokes out of the MMO genre (especially in the OAV, where Konata, Kuroi, Tsukasa, and Kagami form a party...) I don't think anyone else has done a humorous take on it, though. Ah, if only I could draw...

5 Eagerly waiting for a disillusionment in Railgun, maybe I can weasel out of it then.

6 Pete, you don't have to watch Railgun if you don't want to. (But if you don't, you'll be missing something good.)

7 I'll give Railgun the kiss of death for you, Pete: I liked it a lot.

(note: Pete and discovered a little over a year ago that whenever one of us likes a show, almost invariably the other dislikes it.  The sole case where we both liked it is Azumanga Daioh)

8 Sorry, I won't mention it again until the time.

9 I don't really mind, I just wish you'd fish or cut bait.
