Machanima

This is awesome. Someone ripped models and art out of World of Warcraft and used some other rendering package to create a miniature story about an assassination attempt. It's amazingly well done. The character movement, in particular, is excellent. And the fight choreography is even better.

1 Good stuff, but there's more than a few works of comparable quality out there if you're in the mood to look for them.

If you're interested, the tool used to extract the models in question is most likely the WoW Model Viewer, or perhaps some spiritual descendant as it doesn't appear to have been updated in some time, so I don't know if it still works.

2 Right now the current version of model viewer isn't compatible with the current version of WoW. Hopefully, someone's working on it, since the Model Viewer is an absolutely vital program for making WoW machinima and comics.

Absolutely agree with you about the video, Steven. "Blind" blew me away. Some people on WoW message boards were whining about the J-pop soundtrack, but I loved that.

3 Oh, and a little background for those non-World-of-Warcrack addicts, which will explain a bit of what's going on. Spoilers, of a sort...

5 That is a drastic improvement. Man, that looks good!
