I dipped into this episode three or four places for just a few seconds, and it was exactly what I expected it to be. It's also a complete waste of time. I know exactly how the series is going to end.
Olga would be considered to be trancejacked by Lucifer except that Olga isn't resisting. He's going to cause lots of problems, what with releasing all the foreigners from the jail and lots of other things, and our team isn't strong enough to fight him. Nor is anyone else. So Athena is going to convince Our Hero to Overtrance, and he'll win the day. But he'll lose his magic again, and this time it will be permanent. Yawn.
All three of my series this season have turned out to be crap, and they're getting worse by the week. Just lousy, uninspired writing from one end to the other.
And they aren't even giving me much in the way of fan service.
UPDATE: Spoilers and bitching below the fold.
Musaigen no Phantom World:
They've been promising us a whipsaw in this series all along, and the rough descriptions of the second book makes clear that things are going to get a whole lt less fun. (Like blood and death.) I think there's going to be a big "nothing is as it seems" in the last episode, and it won't surprise me if we learn that Our Hero is the only real person in the show, with all the rest of it being his hallucination caused by the disease. But it's also possible that all of them are victims and have been sharing a hallucination. And Ruru? She's a human nurse who's been caring for them all while they've been in a coma.
Luck & Logic: I already vented about that above.
GATE:
Itami and his team are going to rescue Pina from Zorzal's dungeon, and she's going to convince Itami to go to the Palace and to get Molt (her father) out of there. With Molt's help, they'll stop Zorzal's coup and the war won't happen. But Tyule won't get blamed for anything and will still be around to make another attempt to start a war.
Molt had declared Zorzal to be crown prince, but of course once the coup is aborted that's all over. My guess is that he will eventually declare Pina to be his heir. But looming on the horizon is Younger Brother who bailed and is looking for help in neighboring kingdoms to invade and defeat Zorzal. He won't give up his ambition just because Zorzal is disgraced, and it may require help from the JSDF to stop whatever he ends up doing. But the ultimate situation is going to be peace between Japan and The Empire, negotiated by Pina and signed by Molt, who will then conveniently die leaving Pina in charge.
