Now we know

Washinomiya is the place that otaku go to pray. Or at least the KyoAni fanbois do.

UPDATE: Here's the other part.

1 One of the Lucky Star extras was the first event they held at that shrine. (They gave Kagami and Tsukasa "honorary citizenship" in Washinomiya, heh.) Of course, then the place was absolutely -thronged- by fans...

2 Wow!

I asked about the place in Akihabara and the conversation died for a moment. I gathered that the place had been in the news because at some point it had been inundated with fanbois, particularly gaijin fanbois, being loud, leaving paper prayers for things like "I wanna marry Konata" doing the sekifu strut down the road and generally being disrespectfull. I got the distinct impression from this that this was not thought highly of. (...and rightly so 'cause Nanako Kuroi is where it's at!)

Anyway, I ended up not going.
Travelblog FAIL!
I kick myself.

Ouch.....
