Holy Shit! Naruto is ending!

With chapter 700 (which, it has to be admitted, is an amazingly long run).

Fairy Tail is only at chapter 407; I hope it keeps going for a long time.

UPDATE: Naruto was about an apprentice assassin (a ninja). 700 chapters; did he ever kill anyone?

1 Yes, for people who have been studying to be ninjas for their entire lives, Naruto and his classmates certainly seemed to be shocked to discover that ninjas kill other people from time to time.

2 Kishimoto kinda dragged it out. Naruto would've killed the fist guy he met, but , IIRC. At the time I did not pay much attention to it, but now I suspect although that specific circumstances was in the logic of the moment, leaving Naruto dry afterwards was a strategic choice by the mangaka. His comrades were dispatching enemies left and right.

4 You know, I'm not sure Naruto ever outright killed anyone.  He caused a good number of deaths, but that's an interesting question.
Then again, Naruto spent most of his time being either hidden away or training.  And he did convinced one character to commit suicide, so I guess that counts?

5 There are a goodly number of character Naruto *should* have killed, mind.  Sasuke tops the list. *cough*
