Indian Summer -- into the abyss

Continuing onwards.

I don't even want to know.

After an extended tussle with the octopus, the girl who wears the cowbell introduces herself. Her name is Minori, and she works at a restaurant called "Cafe Cowbeya" which belongs to her dad. Oh, dear.

I suspect we have a "kanban musume" here.

UPDATE: By the way, the loli's name is Ayumi and her mother is lost. Takaya will buy her lunch and then help her find her mother again.

UPDATE:

It seems that what this show is really about is pervs-versus-prudes. Minori's dad and Takaya hit it right off because their tastes are similar, and Minori doesn't seem uncomfortable at all in that costume. Yui (she's the robot) is scandalized, and the two mikos were too. Not yet clear where the loli is going to land in this confrontation, but likely on the perv side.

UPDATE: The loli's mom is named Kanae and she (and her girl) both land on the perv side. Ye Gods. Kanae has the biggest boobs yet in the show. In that cast picture I posted below, Kanae is the one on the far right side.

I'm getting squicked out by this thing; maybe I should put it down and watch something else for a while.

1 Squicked? I like the word, is it an original? I get confused sometimes. It seems like the Japanese have acceptable deviant behavior, tolerated but not really acceptable deviant behavior, and not at all acceptable deviant behavior and the rules vary in weird combinations and in various opinions.....fun Eh?

2 I learned the word "squick" here. But it seems it's been around for a while: "The physical sense of repulsion upon encountering a concept or situation one finds disgusting." (I think they meant "revulsion", but...)

3 I suppose we should have expected that the Hitchhiker's Guide to Anime has an article on it, too.

4 Ah, the old Photo of Earnest Borgnine in a string bikini effect! Or perhaps the first episode of Moetan.

5 Curse you, Steven!  I lost 3 hours in there last night.

That whole site is made of crack.

6 Yeah, the tropes site is definitely a tar baby.

7 Farzooky! Now I've gone and bookmarked the Tropes site. Just another member of an Anime calvary trope.

"Calvary", eh? (Yet another place where a spelling error is funny. Otherwise I would have ignored it. Sorry...)

I guess "anime Calvary" is the opposite of "anime Mecca", eh?
