The whole universe is Japanese
This is interesting: turns out the DogScript (from "Dog Days") is a cipher of hiragana. No wonder Shinku learned to write in it in just a few days!

Gurren-Lagann's written language was English, only with a different glyphs for characters -- with one exception: writings in Parallel Works episodes were all gibberish.
