Fight! Ippatsu! Ecchi-chan!!

I just finished scanning through the other two episodes of Fight! Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!! This show is basically light porn, and that's pretty much all there is to it.

I've got 16 frame grabs for you below the fold, and they are really NSFW.

UPDATE: Pete has started watching it.

Here's our first view of Plug:

I tell you, it's like something out of Strike Witches, only even more explicit. Plug fouls something up, and here's her boss getting mad about it:

More of the boss later. Plug has a transformation sequence, though it was different in ep 2 than in ep 1.

Ep 2 introduces the other main girl. She's got a name, but I'm gonna call her Meganekko. Though calling her "Tits" would be appropriate, too:

Their duty costumes contain a window in the back where a cable comes out. And also exposes butt-crack.

Eye catch, ep 2:

And if that doesn't catch your eye, then you're gay. Plug's second henshin sequence is a lot weirder than the first:

/images/02876.jpg

There were butt-shots, too, but I didn't feel inclined. Meganekko gets mad at Plug, and they really like this camera angle, don't they?

/images/02877.jpg

Onward to ep 3: The OP has a cast shot, and it seems that the guy with the baseball bat is the only male featured in the show:

/images/02878.jpg

Meganekko leads off the episode with another shower scene:

Eyecatch. This is Plug's boss, the "more of her" I promised you above:

ED. Plug seems to be trying out for Hinako's gig.

Conclusion: This show is a trainwreck of colossal proportions. Cheap thrills notwithstanding, I'm not curious about any of the rest of it.

1 Making another quick pass through the manga, it looks like they're racing through the material as fast as they can, in order to avoid the plot and get ahead of the mangaka (your description of episode 3 is chapters 9 & 9.5 of 30).

There is no nudity in the manga. Use of their electrical powers does not result in arousal or loss of bladder control. The only urine appears in one scene in volume 2, where Sento scares it out of an otaku who's trying to bother a 3D girl on the beach. Arrester does, however, get off explosively when Sento clobbers her with the bat after their contest, and buys her own bat to try to analyze the experience (hitting herself and Plug to no erotic effect). Lots of (mostly dry) pantsu. And Sento is not an orphan; the attempted suicide in the first chapter is his widower father.

I'm forced to conclude that the urine is an extremely peculiar form of censorship.

Eeew! Who wants old men in a fan service show? Old men are icky! Obviously a cute imouto would be better.

I suspect that's what the anime director was thinking, anyway.

3 Oh, little sister gets charged up in another chapter, but she's not suicidal.

4 After seeing 2 episodes, I think someone who survived Strike Witches 05 should be able to handle it easily. Arresta was wonderful . And I heard from Aroduc than at least up to 04 it only gets better as every character gets a turn to shine. If only someone released it on DVD with all the porn removed. Sure, it's not Haibane Renmei thus far, but the societal drama is basically that of Dai-Guard. If that is too generous, it surely is Strike Witches or better.

But I was emotionally scarred by that ep of Strike Witches. I've never rewatched it.

6 Good point. I'm considering putting the foot down, actually. Even if Arresta has the depth of Reki (which is unlikely), it's still a loss. The long term concern, however, is that the creators all across the industry took a wrong lesson from the success of Strike Witches and we're about to get all sorts of good storylines wasted on this kind of portmaneu setup. At least dropping Kanokon was an easy, loss free decision.

7 It's not like Strike Witches was the first series to do that. Divergence Eve probably wasn't, either.

8 Certainly there must be a qualitative difference if SW left you scarred and DV did not. And I even can guess what it was: DV merely had sex and SW (and Juuden) insert exploitative porn. So while mixing sex in is not new, and tentacles are synonymous with anime, we may be facing a wave of newly eggregious and widespread attempts to push the envelope.
