Favorite 5

Don has a few top-5 lists. Thought I'd try the same. I'll skip the "worst anime reviews" because I agree with him that the Solomon dude at Amazon has retired that trophy. (IIRC he also thoroughly botched his review of Azumanga Daioh.)

So favorite final episodes (in no particular order):

     Petite Princess Yucie
     Misaki Chronicles
     Someday's Dreamers
     Magic Users Club (OVA)
     Vandread: The Second Stage

Favorite first episodes:

     Mahoromatic
     Haibane Renmei
     Vandread
     Kamichu
     Petite Princess Yucie

Ahh, the first episode of Kamichu! was indeed a delight.  Shame the series crashed and burned almost immediately thereafter.  How they could fumble such a great idea is a mystery.

And I haven't rewatched Mahoromatic, but I should.  Except for the final episode, of course.

2 Kamichu! is awesome and perfect in every way.

Even the cat episode.

3 I'm not going to rise to the bait here. (grumble) Anyway, the cat episode isn't the worst one in the series. Ep 6 is the worst. Blech. (I think it was ep 6. The one about Yurie joining the calligraphy club.)

Except that was just a costume. (And an imagined one, at that.) Yurie and Yucie were magically transformed.

I didn't think that Yucie as a cat was really outstandingly cute. But that episode was a lot more fun than the one in Kamichu where Yurie transformed.
