Enquiring minds want to know...

What kind of neighborhood does Pete live in where the local grocery store carries imported Japanese otaku candy?

And what kind of computer has both a touchpad and a joystick?

1 I'll have to take a look in my five local asian supermarkets and see if any of them have these.

2 Lenovo Thinkpads often have a trackpad and a trackstick, and looking at the picture, that sure looks like Thinkpad styling.

3 IBM does as well I think.

4 Yeah, that looks a lot like a thinkpad--the placement of the red/blue/red buttons is pretty iconic. I had a T41 for a couple years at a place I worked at once. Regarding the candy, there's a bunch of asian supermarkets around here, too. The last time I went into an indian one, they even had a wall of what were probably bootleg movie dvds (all of indian movies.)

5 "IBM does as well I think." Don't forget that Lenovo laptops ARE IBM. Well, to be accurate, Lenovo used to make IBM's laptops, and IBM sold the business off, so they're really the same thing.

6 Geez, I was in Albuquerque for less than a week and found two places there that could have carried this stuff.  Instead, I stocked up on Pocky.

7 It's from Talin Market, a few blocks south of the freeway on Louisiana, 2 blocks west from Wyoming where you've been. Probably too far for you to walk though.

8 That's the very place I suspected, Pete.  Not just Japanese foods, either, but from lots of places.

9 If the other one you mentioned was Fremont's, you've found all of the 2 edible food stores in the whole Albuquerque. The rest is just chilie, chilie, chilie and tortillas. And more chilie.
