Dokkoida -- ep 1

/images/01782.jpg

This is Tanpopo and Dokkoida (alias "Diaperman").

/images/01783.jpg

This is what they really look like.

Tanpopo is a sales representative of a galactic toy company, which is trying to break into the business of producing military hardware. They've developed a prototype military fighting suit, and she's on earth trying to find someone who will wear it and prove how well it works.

Suzuo, the guy, is down on his luck. He needs a job. Tanpopo offers him one, but he decides she's crazy and declines. But while he's on the phone calling numbers from employment ads, a supervillain shows up and starts trashing the town. Everywhere Suzuo calls, the bad guy shows up first and destroys it.

Finally, desperate, he accepts Tanpopo's job -- but he didn't really understood what it was.

This is who Tanpopo is most afraid of:

I think I'm in love.

She's wearing a power suit, too. It was made by another company. The two companies have chosen Earth for a fly-off of the two suits, to prove which is better. So this babe's been recruited by a sales representative from the other company. He (?) looks like a rabbit. When she's in costume, apparently her name is Nerloid Girl. Her secret identity is Asaka.

In her secret identity, Tanpopo is called Kosuzu and she calls Suzuo onii-chan. (Ooooh!) While they're under cover, they're pretending to be brother and sister. (Rats.) Which means they're sharing the same apartment. (Ooooh!)

Kosuzu has the same voice as Paiway in Vandread. Suzuo has the same voice as Mike in Onegai Twins. Asaka, oddly enough, has the same voice as Ekuryua in Banner of the Stars, though this is quite a lot different. She was also Shizuha in Stratos 4, which is more similar.

The bad guy? His trade name is "Dr. Marron Flower" and he has the same voice as Genma Saotome in Ranma 1/2.

So we got goofy fun, a gorgeous girl who wears a skimpy costume, a loli, and...

...and they all live in the same rooming house. See, none of them know the secret identities of the others, except for Suzuo and Kosuzu, because she's his employer. (Or do they?)

I think this could be OK. Especially because I just noticed that Mitsuishi Kotono has a major part in it. It's been a long time since I've run into her; I'm looking forward to it. And Kugimiya Rie is in it, too, probably playing another loli.

Suzuo is a good looking guy, and Asaka is a babe. I wonder if they'll strike sparks? Wanna bet?

UPDATE:

I got ten bucks sez that this is the character Mitsuishi Kotono is doing. I sure hope so! Because otherwise she's gonna be the housewife, and that would be a waste.

And I'm just as sure as I can be that this is Kugimiya Rie's role.

Here's the cast shot at the end of the OP.

Oh please oh please oh please let Mitsuishi Kotono be the dom!

I'm making a big guess here about what's coming: the authority controlling the fly-off has also shipped in opponents, and that's who most of this lot is. Asaka and Suzuo are the only native Earthlings, and I bet we do see some romance between them eventually.

In the mean time we've already seen the Paper Fan of Doom. Kosuzu used it on Suzuo twice.

2 Um, yes, I know all about ANN. That was what I was looking at which told me that Mitsuishi Kotono was in the show.
