It turns out that we're doing the story of "The Little Mermaid". They kind of gave away the game last episode when they showed us a statue of a mermaid that is reminiscent of the one in Copenhagen Harbor. As always, spoilers below the fold.

The Star People can use magic to look at the people on the surface, and Aria (who is the core of this story) apparently did that a lot and finally came to really want to get legs and travel to the surface.

One of the 3-inch tall Sky People told her he could grant her wish if she gave him her voice. And that's where all the grief started. I didn't totally understand how it was that he became a Demon Disciple, but that's what happened. Anyway, that's Verde, the bigbad. And he's another victim of a demon sword.

Ultimately Gaul and Shinku reprise their battle against the giant mouse by both using their Hero Stones and defeating Verde (that's the Demon Disciple).

Meanwhile, getting rid of all the disease demons requires someone with a beautiful voice singing a particular song.

Shinku and Becky bring back reinforcements. In Spades. Lots of guard knights, lots of medics, all three princesses, and so on. Lots of action, and then Millefiore sang the magic song, and everyone got better. No more disease demons.

Verde is lying on the ground with tears in his eyes. Shinku and Gaul stand over him guarding him. And that's where the episode ends.

One more ep, to wrap everything up. My guess is that we get a victory/gratitude party in the Sky Whale, and Verde gets redeemed somehow (since there are no permanent villains in this series), we find and repair the Fire Dragon, and then everyone goes back to the ground and we send the Heroes home again.

Probably Yuki and Noir are going to deal with the demon sword, which will return Verde to normal.

For me the high point of the episode was Couverte putting her flying carpet into truck mode, and carrying about a hundred people on it.

The biggest surprise was Pega's "true form". Pega's full name is "Pegasus". And next time Sharl needs to travel somewhere she won't have to bother the Fire Dragon for a ride.
