1 Part of me wants to say: "It's not wise to taunt a Hurricane".  But seeing as you'll be 3k miles away, I think you're safe.

2 My theory: Our host bears a secret hatred for the entire Midwest, and is trying to taunt the hurricane into rampaging across Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and so forth on its way to the Pacific Northwest.

Seriously, though, I too hope it is not as bad as predicted, or at least people have taken wise precautions.

4 Rain, yes.  Hurricane rain?  Not so much.

(as it is, the weather nabobs are saying we'll be getting fallout from Sandy beginning tomorrow; they're suggesting 25 foot waves in Lake Michigan hitting Chicago... that doesn't happen all that often!)
