Blue Dragon -- Shadow wielders

/images/02151.jpg

On the left is Marumaro, with his shadow Saber Tiger. Saber Tiger can shoot fireballs from his mouth, and he is extremely fast.

In the center is Shu, with Blue Dragon. Blue Dragon seems to be the strongest of the shadows, or at least has that potential if only Shu can find the energy for it. In a couple of situations he has. Blue Dragon isn't always totally under control, though Shu is getting better at that.

On the right is Jiro, and Minotaur. Minotaur is a good general purpose fighter and has a couple of decent energy attacks.

All three of them are quite formidable. You screw with them at your peril.

UPDATE: I just noticed that each of the shadows has a pair of brass or gold rings: Saber Tiger on his upper arms, Blue Dragon on his horns, and Minotaur on his wrists. I'll have to look at the pictures of Killer Bat and Hippo to see if they do, too.

1 Thinking they might be symbolic ( or literally involved in ) the binding of the shadows to their mortal masters?

2 I have no idea what they might symbolize. The show itself never calls attention to them, at least in the first 10 episodes.
