Ep 4, maybe? I was looking out my window this afternoon and noticed that one of our trees was about half gnawed through, with a big pile of wood chips around its base.
Here's a closeup:
When did that happen, I wondered to myself? Has it been like that for a month, and I just never noticed it? Seems unlikely, but with the number of senior moments I seem to have these days, it isn't impossible.
So I dug through my library of photos to see if I had a recent picture that included that tree, and I found one from 3/30:
I don't have a zoom view, but even from this picture, it doesn't look like it's been chewed on. Which means it happened sometime in the last week and a half -- long after I reported that the county had killed the beavers, which was March 13. Most likely it's within the last couple of days.
So maybe the Rodent Alliance are still out there, despite the Empire's best efforts.

At 3 this afternoon, this is what the creek looked like:
At 6:30 it looked like this:
I'll go out tomorrow to confirm it, but I think what this means is that the dam has been repaired. Probably happened last night, and it took this long for the water to back up this far.

Yeah, it was raining yesterday, and maybe there was a big downpour late in the day that I didn't notice.
I'm definitely keeping an eye on that tree, though. If it goes down, that will be an unambiguous sign.
