Whoa, Seattle!

I'm watching The Game on a flash file from nfl.com, just like I did last year, which is running on my tablet while I use my computer for other things. It's pleasant; no ads, no annoying color commentary, just the fax maam.

Seattle's defense sure has been breathing fire in the second half! (I write this with 11 minutes to go in the game.) I think they've sacked Brady twice, and managed their second interception. New England can't seem to do anything any more.

When the first half ended tied, I wondered if there had ever been a Superbowl which went into overtime. Doesn't look like there's any danger of that for this one. (Although NE just managed to get into FG range.)

UPDATE: I spoke too soon; NE just got a TD. But that still puts them 3 points behind, and Seattle's offense has been breathing fire too.

But it ain't over until it's over...

UPDATE: Wow, I really did speak too soon. 28-24 NE with 2:02 left to play.

UDATE: What a finish! Someone named Butler just earned himself the MVP award, I do believe.

1 I am displeased with the outcome, being as I am a NFC fan, but it was a helluva game.

Too often the Superbowl ends up being a romp, with one team walking all over the other. This one was a real contest, and either team could have won it right up until that interception, which iced the game.

I bet Butler doesn't sleep tonight. (I bet Seattle's quarterback doesn't, either, but not for the same reason.)

3 As to the MVP, they gave it to Brady. That's boring and predictable.

4 I didn't watch this year, as I figured New England would walk away with the win.  Kind of regret it, now.

5 Nobody to blame for that loss but themselves - Seattle got a direct gift from the Gods of the Gridiron and, quite literally, threw it away at the last second...

Was quite a good game. Wasn't cheering for either team so all I wanted was for it to be pretty close and to eat some of Ted's Doritos Casserole; whoa nelly, I got what I was after in both cases. (Also his curious chili made with stew meat...)

Normally, I root for whoever the NFC team is in the Super Bowl.  However, I'm a Packers fan, so seeing it snatched away from Seattle in the final few minutes it too delicious to let by.
