President Obama

President Barack Obama is a horse's ass.

And with that, I'm sure I'm now on the "do not fly" list, and if he has his way I won't be permitted to buy a gun.

1 Not that there is any connection, but I paid the NRA for a 5 year membership this very evening.

2 Look on the bright side:  Barak Obama has become the Salesman of the Decade for the arms industry (Both domestic and export.), with an honorable mention to the New York Times.

3 I wouldn't worry about it.  For all the thoughtcrimes you committed on the Clueless over the years, I'm sure you were already on all of the horse's ass's lists.

4 Nice thing about being a duck... we scoff at no fly lists.

5 It's pretty common to speculate that Obama suffers from clinical narcissism. OTOH, "and it doesn't work" is kind of built into all the definitions of mental pathology, which is why politicians aren't *officially* diagnosed as sociopaths, even though they typically otherwise meet the criteria.
So I suppose succeeding at getting elected President immunizes him against being officially diagnosed with that disorder.
Anyway, it may be that Obama actually does believe that he is magically persuasive, and can spout any BS and be believed. And is endlessly shocked that it doesn't work.
But, given his success at simply ruling by dicat, and ignoring the other branches' legal entitlement to a say in anything, it may be that he's simply announcing what he means to go ahead and do.

6 I've read there's at least two lists in play, the better known "no-fly list" and a much bigger "terrorist watch list".

You can imagine there are people (well, names, the former is just names, not identities, don't know about the latter) who are under watch, but are not suspicious enough to restrict their travel, or perhaps we don't want to alert them by stopping them at the airport; the San Bernardino couple were obviously not on the no-fly list.

Guess which one they want to use to forbid gun ownership vs. which they more publicly talk about?

Guess which one has been used as an all but explicit enemies list when it took inconvenient questions to Fatherland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to get Fox News contributor Steven Hayes off it?

As I recall, I'm about as old as our host and I remember when the revelation that President Nixon kept an "enemies list" was a very big deal, a very UnAmerican thing.  Or as Glenn "Instapundit" Reynolds put it WRT to an article titled "President Obama Dogged By Credibility Gap", "Well, when you say you’re at war with ISIS, but you only sound angry at Republicans, people notice."

Yeah, we've noticed, as cxt217 notes.  Americans continue to buy guns like never before, November 2015 broke all previous records for NICS checks, Black Friday as well as the whole month.

But, hey, no matter how badly it plays with voters, another "national 'conversation'" about gun control beats talking about the manifest domestic and international security failures of Team Obama.

7 The fascinating bit, I think, is that Heller came down at the end of the Bush Administration.  So in an era of expanding Gun Rights, Obama made everyone concerned he was going to find a way to drastically constrain them.  Given Obama stands for very little except some standard Leftism, it really isn't that surprising.  It took people a few years to figure out Obama really doesn't believe in upholding the Law or the Government long term interests.
On a little bit of a morbidly funny note, I've got a collection of friends I'm going to get 20+ years out of ribbing over voting for Obama.  He was not hard to figure out in 2008.  Men with no accomplishments are not capable of being President, as Obama has so readily shown.
