Reddit flood
Today, someone linked to me in a comment on Reddit. It's the third time in about a month, and I never had that happen before this month. It sure doesn't cause as much traffic as Instapundit or SlashDot, but it's respectable.

While a bit inflammatory by the Israeli official, it actually will be a good thing when Japan stops remembering the bombings.
The value of the Nuclear Bombs really was less in their damage (though they really were the first true "strategic" bombings done, as they could be fairly accurate and get the job done) and more in what it did to the culture. Without the bombs, Operation Downfall would have been a go, Kyushu's coast would still be in need of bomb removal and the total cost of lives to take the 4 Main Islands would have been insane. The total Japanese population, even right now, would also probably be 10-20 million lower.
The bombs achieved their military objects, but the greatest victory was the fact it destroy the Will to Fight of most of the leadership. That lead to the surrender, which perserved a good bit of Japanese heritage. Yet they will haven't truly "worked through" WW2 as a culture. Until they do, they'll keep on the road to fading away.

I was surprised by how few good sequences I was able to get from this series. There were a hell of a lot of sequences I could have used except for bare breasts. Even at that, a couple of these are very borderline, and I apologize.

I'm actually surprised between the series and the OVA that you found that much to work with. Most of High School DxD is barely clothed. Especially once Issei gains "dress break", which seems to be the logical end point of the MCSA method.

And most of the others have gratuitous closeup zooms. One of the tennis shots above I had to cut off early, because it ended up in a closeup of cameltoe.

High School DxD knows what it wants to be and has little shame in that. It is what it is.
Also, even for Issei's desire to be the Harem King, he's still fairly "normal", as far as these MCs go. Plus she shows some actual intelligence from time to time. It's a good evening watch. And I've seen a lot worse series.

And that's 101 out of 2447, 4.1%. My original unspoken goal was to get at least 100 anims, and now I've done that. So for the last one I... celebrated. I guess. Gave in to my baser instincts.
I'd like to apologize to everyone for the lack of quality posting around here, but... I just don't have anything worthwhile to say right now.
Since I gave up on Gargantia and Railgun, there are no shows I'm following. And the next season is going to be worse; there's nothing I'm even curious about.
So about all I can do is hunt for top rotation anims, which is pretty poor pickins. And that's why you've seen so many of them lately.

I'd seen your post that you weren't happy with where Gargantia had gone, and might stop watching it. But I hadn't seen anything of that sort with Railgun. When did you stop watching that one, and why?

I was going to ask you for help in making an animation for my Muv-Luv Alternative review of a girl's flight suit vacuuming to her body, to illustrate the meme. But I imagine you're not THAT bored.

Steve, on Future Railgun events, need to check something.
After the Sisters Arc finishes, the series is actually going into the "Liberal Arts City" Side Story. It's a side story Light Novel that has them running around, effectively, a vacation spot. I don't know details about the story itself (minus Saten being pretty central), but the series isn't going to be adapting any more manga after the Sisters Arc.
Which means that "Mental Out", the Queen of Tokiwadai we saw in ep 1, isn't showing up again in the series. That was confirmed by the production staff. They put her in mostly as a gift to the fans and to key her in for future Index or Railgun works.
Now, that said, the Sisters Arc is quite dark, so waiting until the series ends might not be a bad idea.
The spoiler I saw referred to something that The Queen was going to do. If it happens, in the canon, it's hard to see how Mikoto resists the urge
to murder The Queen afterwards. Which she could easily do; The Queen's power doesn't grant her physical defense except by the use of human shields and it's already been established that she cannot control Mikoto.
The reason I think the horrible event I read about is coming is because there's a scene in the OP which seems to presage it.

Well, the producer said the Queen simply wasn't showing up again in the series, so I guess we'll just let you know? Might be easier to pop back in around ep 18 or so, when we know what's going on with the next story arc. For certain.

I'm reading the writeups on the episodes for both shows, mainly at SeaSlugs and RandomC. But that only takes a couple of minutes per episode, which is all I think they're worth at this point.

I'm quite happy with Yuyushiki. It's not a storytelling masterpiece, but it's all right. In fact, I'm following three shows in this season, a record not matched since 2008 (I'm cheating, however: one of them is a 3-minute format, another is a halver).

I'm watching three-and-a-half series right now. The past three episodes of Railgun have been a little offputting, in that we've been reminded that Sparky's a teenage girl, not some incredible fighting machine. Titan managed to blow all the goodwill it generated in the early episodes in the course of one. OreImo 2 is perfect for the sort of mood I'm in these days: evil and grim. PhotoKano is the "half-a-series." I d/l it, I look at the episode quickly, then say "I'll watch it later," and never do.
So, perhaps not a good track record these days.

I do think it would be interesting if someone tried to blog one of the 3 minute series. While Aiura is kind of fun this season, Haitai Nanafa would be the interesting one. It's quite good though so short.
As for the season, umm... Would appear to be 12 series for me with a few I'm still collecting and will probably finish up later. (If it's a series I'm pretty "meh" on but is popular, I tend to keep collecting it and then drop back in for the final arc. You'd be amazed how little you miss.)

Jinx blogs AIURA, but he's not terribly detailed. Just "thighs thighs thigs". Kuro is mostly the same.

Watching Gargantia, Railgun Henneko. But with Gargantia, at the end of the episode after "the big discovery", they add a twist I definitely didn't expect.
Ledo gets an answer to his distress signal...from Earth.
Also took another swing-and-a-miss at Majestic Prince, and caught up with My Teen Romantic Comedy.

It's been a good season for catching up on old things you downloaded but never watched.

Like Wonderduck alluded to, the last 3 episodes of Railgun consisted of a Mikoto fight, and while it was well animated, both Mikoto and her opponents made a number of somewhat implausible strategic errors. At least the whole affair had a nice pace to it.
Wonderduck, which Titan episode blew it for you? I've kept up with it and like the direction the series went, especially since Armin finally is developing into something useful.

Wahsatchmo, this is not the place for that discussion.
