Oratory

This is one hell of a speech.

I'm not a big fan of political speeches. Most of the time when I try to listen to one, it affects me like fingernails on a chalkboard. But I think I'd have liked to have heard that one. I bet the crowd loved it.

They're having dueling rallies today in Massachusetts. Brown is having his in Worcester, and they've filled it and there are hundreds of people outside they can't allow in.

Meanwhile, Coakley is hosting our President at a rally in Boston, and their (same size) hall isn't full.

I've been reading NRO's reports on both. Seems that at the Brown rally they're mostly talking about reasons why Massachusetts voters should vote for Brown. At the Coakley rally they're taling about reasons why voters should not vote for Brown. They don't seem to be talking about why Coakley would, you know, be a good choice except that, you know, she isn't Brown.

That kind of campaigning can win, but I don't think it's going to this time. I'm beginning to get my hopes up.
