Nanoha Vivid Manga -- a look ahead

/images/08402.png

It ain't all sports-anime. Some other things happen. Spoilers below the fold. (Also, the last two episodes finally got subbed! Yay!)

For instance, Ixy melts the cute meter.

A miniature version of Ixy appears over her sleeping body. I'm not sure if the chibi can talk, perhaps with telepathy. It looks like no. But she does seem able to get certain things across, and she definitely understands what other people are saying.

She obviously can't go out alone, but equally obviously they can't just lock her in that room. So they rig a basket for her, and Otto and Deed take her places.

Vivio introduces Ixy to her friends, who also melt down from the cute.

I think I should point out that having people this size is not entirely unprecedented. This is about the size that Rein and Agito were in StrikerS.

The middle school is having a cultural festival. (It's in the rules.) The class president in Einhart's class has the idea that they should set up places where guests can compete against girls from the class at various things, such as shooting basketball free throws, or playing ping-pong. Einhart gets picked to be the defender in arm wrestling, while wearing a frilly magical-girl costume.

And she is suitably embarrassed by the whole thing. But she takes it on, without even transforming into her adult form. (I guess the costume wouldn't fit.) And she does her best.

And her best is pretty darned good. I wonder how that guy feels losing to a 12 year old girl wearing a frilly costume? Anyway, the next opponent is Hallie Tribeca. And she doesn't underestimate Einhart, or vice versa.

It gets pretty intense, and spectators start looking for cover.

The result? No game; they broke the table.

Vivio, Rio, and Corona got drafted to help, not that they object. Vivio has a booth.

There's this big target, and you get a ball about the size of a tennis ball. You are supposed to throw the ball and hit the target, which is about 15 feet away. Easy, right, because it's so big? Well, no. Vivio's job is to stop the balls. And she challenges four guests at once:

We have Victoria, Lutecia, Miura, and Hayate and they're all using magic when they throw. (And Miura is kicking hers.) Vivio gets all four.
