Nanatsu no Taizai -- spoilers

The Wikipedia article about this series has some spoilers from the books. If you want to read my take on a few of them, it's below the fold.

Meliodas is part demon. He is the "Dragon Sin of Wrath" and his sin is genocide. There was a woman named Liz he fell in love with (we've seen her in flashbacks, and she bears a striking resemblance to Princess Elizabeth) and when Liz died, in battle in a kingdom named Danafor, he lost his mind and his full power came out -- and he destroyed the entire kingdom.

Elizabeth is a survivor of Danafor, who was adopted by the King of Liones. She's part Goddess, and her right eye contains Goddess power. Using it, she can cure mortal wounds. It was Elizabeth who cured the doctor after he was run through, and earlier she used her power on Meliodas, which is why he recovered from the poison and the terrible sword wound.

Gowther isn't human. I suppose it could be argued that Diane and King are not, either, but they have the same emotions and drives as humans. Gowther does not. He is a "doll" created by a master magician, and I think it would be best to think of him as being a golem or a robot. That's why he seems to be autistic; he does pretty well dealing with humans but he doesn't think or act like a human. He understands things like emotion on an intellectual level but he himself doesn't feel them.

Hendrickson isn't dead. He has the ability to bring dead people back to life, twice each. Every time, they lose a lot and they're not as strong or capable. Gilthunder did cut off his right arm. He eventually injects himself with demon blood and regenerates his arm, but also turning himself into a full demon. He appears to be the final boss.

Or not? There is a demon named Fraudrin who is controlling Hendrickson and Dreyfus, using them to revive the Demon Clan, and that may be the final boss.

Helbram did actually die once, and Hendrickson brought him back to life. He's coming back again.

Veronica (the second princess) may not be dead. The description is confusing, but it may be that Elizabeth used her healing power on Veronica and saved her.

Of course, this is from the books, and the anime may not follow the same story precisely. But it's been true to the books so far.
