Macademi Wasshoi -- ep 7

I'm finally getting to the new episodes I hadn't yet watched. Ep 7 is the costume race.

I had always wondered about the nature of Trincia. Initially it's implied that she's a computer program, an AI. But she also operates in the real world, later in the series.

At one point in ep 7 she says, "By the way, I don't seem to get excited because of the way I'm built." I think that explains it: she is an AI, and Professor Sagami created a robot body for her to use when she wants to operate in the real world.

Yaay! The mini-En's are back!

UPDATE:

By the way, the guy who's doing the voice of Ag, head demon, is awesome. He is anyway; he did Friagne in Shana. This is a lot different kind of role, but he was cast perfectly for it anyway.

UPDATE: Ep 8. Yay, beach episode! (Below the fold, cause it's borderline NSFW.)

Here's the original.

When you have an MKV at resolution 1280*720, which is what these last two episodes are, then it's better in every way than a DVD. When (I hope) this series gets licensed for R1 I'll buy it, but what (besides assuaging my feelings of guilt) would it have to offer? The MKV is bigger, higher quality, free, and here now. At the best possible case it'll be more than a year before R1 release on DVD of a smaller, lower quality version. And an MKV isn't hard-subbed, so I can turn off subtitles for clean frame grabs.

It was bad enough for the industry when it had a superior product with which to compete with the fansubbers. Now, as long as they stay with DVD, they are trying to sell a product which is inferior to what the fansubbers are giving away for free.

UPDATE: Synclavier and Miyabi have no hope. The head god and head demon know where they are and won't lift a finger to help them.

Yet is their fate really all that bad? What we've been told is that the thing the demons and gods fear most is losing contact with the human world, for that will condemn them to an eternity of boredom. Whatever else their situation may be, Synclavier and Miyabi are not bored. Lots of stuff happens around Sakuma, and they're there to see all of it.

UPDATE: Actually, there is one thing the DVD release can offer: decensorship. Hell of a note, that. I wonder what the DVD will do with this (NSFW)?
