Shimoneta finally comes through

Shimoneta has always been a strange show, which I haven't been watching. (That's the one about the Porn Liberation Front.) The first episode was enough for me.

But I admit I've been reading the summaries that have appeared on various blogs, and my main conclusion is that the whole thing is a tease. Actually, I'm going to use a nasty word here:

It promises much and delivers little or nothing. Or so I thought.

Fapservice says they finally came through. In the ED of the last episode, the AT-X version shows whatsername fully nude with no censorship. They've got a NSFW frame grab here.

I kind of have the impression that the series was intended to be a commentary on Japan's censorship rules, which I know a lot of artists really hate. It forces artists to vandalize their own work.

1 I hope you're right about Shimoneta being some sort of meta-commentary on censorship, because the episodes I watched were a complete failure as comedy.  Most of the "jokes" were whatsername (as you aptly christened her) mindlessly babbling about masturbation or sex organs without any context.

I'll contrast Shimoneta with Prison School, and while the latter is abjectly trashy and childishly filthy, it goes so far over the top that it actually becomes funny. Sure, it will make you cringe, but the sight of the main character standing proudly with his pants down wearing nothing but a soda can is pretty funny.

I agree that overall it was pretty inept. I spotted that from the first episode and had no urge to watch any more of it.

I'm just reacting to the fact that the show concept and the original teaser art seemed to suggest it was going to be a lot more ecchi than it turned out to be, at least art-wise.

But later they changed this art and put a robe on her.

I saw a comment somewhere that implied that Anna was a trap. Did that turn out to be true?
