Fall 2010 preview

The THAT guys have their autumn preview up. My thoughts:

Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls is from the studio that gave us Queen's Blade and the last two seasons of Ikki Tousen. This show is probably from the same mold. Almost certainly crap, but I'll watch an episode anyway. (To see if they have the Most Common Special Attack.)

MM! is probably trash, but it's worth one ep to see.

Sorademo Machi wa Mawatteiruu sounds like it's going to be a disappointment after all. (More like Natsu no Arashi than like Asobi ni Iku Yo.)

Ore no Imouto ga Kannani Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai is major league squick. I'm not going anywhere near it!

Otome Youkai Zakuro is my pick for "longshot of the season". Almost certainly awful, but just the faintest chance that it could be brilliant.

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes is probably cute-overload but it could be funny.

There's going to be a sequel to Sora no Otoshimono but since I didn't watch the first season, I probably won't watch this one either. There's also a To Love-Ru sequel, and same comment.

I will try to watch the To Aru Majutsu no Index sequel. I may not make it through, though; I don't do very well on horror shows.

They didn't mention it, but there will be a To Aru Kagaku no Railgun OVA this fall. The first episode runs Oct 29, and I'll definitely be watching that. (If it isn't the "Sisters" arc, I'm gonna be livid.)

Anyway, this season seems to have rather more potential than most have recently.

UPDATE: The latest preview poster is out now. And SeaSlugs have done their preview.

UPDATE: Man, if they can do a sequel to To Love-Ru, why can't they do a sequel for Macademi Wasshoi?

1 What?  A new season already?  What happen?

I like the artwork for MM, but then I went and read the premise of the show. :|

I have plenty of older stuff to catch up on at least.

2 The summer season doesn't feel like it's dragging the way winter and spring did. (Maybe that's because there are two shows I'm following and enjoying.)

3 Typo on their part for the little-sister show (konna, not kanna, for "My little sister shouldn't be this cute"). Based on a series of light novels, but I don't know any more about it than their summary says. I got the impression from earlier comments somewhere that it doesn't get squicky, except perhaps in her imagination.

Definitely popular, with a manga adaptation and an extensive merchandise line in place: drama CDs, t-shirts, coffee mugs, cellphone straps, posters, and her school uniform in adult sizes...

But seriously, a 3D mousepad of the little sister? That must have the least effective wrist-wrest in history. Oh, wait, perhaps they meant it differently...

4 Oh, neat. I like that they list the resumes of the people involved with each series. I don't like the groupthink and relative lack of diversity of the reviewer's interests, but the utility of the data is high enough that it is ignorable.
