Fairy Tail S2 ep 47 -- Transformation Magic

It's another filler episode, heavy on the fan service and the comedy.

Lucy is concerned about the fact that she can't do summons very often, and she wants to learn some other kind of magic for when she's used all her summons for a day. So she asks Mirajane to teach her Transformation magic. Natsu is nearby and hears this, and he and Happy join the class, out in a park.

Mirajane says there are three levels. At level one you can change your body but not your clothes. At level two the clothes change as well. And at level 3 you can completely change yourself (her examples were a fish, a bird, and a fox).

So to begin with she has Lucy and Natsu concentrate on trying to become each other.

Meanwhile, several people go clothes shopping. One is Wendy, who seems taken with Goth Loli fashion.

Gajeel and Pantherlily end up in superhero costumes, for no obvious reason. And so does Erza.

Back at the park, Mira decides they've concentrated enough, and it's time to shout "Transform!"

And Happy is the only one to succeed, even only partially.

So they try again, and this time Natsu gets it:

And a bunch of other stuff happens, but nothing that really makes any sense. It's all Rule of Funny.

1 Did they retain their Transformation magic?

2 Nothing like this happened in the manga, so I assume not. I think this episode isn't really canon.
