Dragonball: Evolution review

ANN sent someone to see the premier of Dragonball: Evolution in Tokyo and they've now posted a review of it. And they think it utterly stunk.

Which, based on everything I heard about it until now, doesn't suprise me in the slightest. It's been an abortion from the very beginning.

UPDATE: While I'm doing a linky post, I may as well toss this one in, too, even though it has nothing to do with DB. Bob reports that Bandai has announced a license for Kurokami for R1, with release scheduled for June 16.

Considering that Kurokami is running now on Japanese television, that's one of the fastest R1 DVD releases ever.

1 I saw that last night when preparing my order, and thought I must be misreading the title.   But then again, I can watch Druaga on the same day it's released in Japan -- subtitled, free, and legit. So maybe it's not so big a deal after all.

2 I'd like to encourage it, but it's not my kind of show so I won't be buying it.

3 Kurokami is (or at least was) airing on ImaginAsian TV in the US, dubbed, about eight hours after it airs in Japan. Bandai made a big fuss about it a while back, which caused many to laugh hysterically since only about two people actually seem to be able to receive the station.

Still, have to give them points for trying ^^;

4 You might want to read Zac's review of Speed Racer in order to set some yardsticks. His is so weary from life that only one step remains to a suicidal dentist who hates the bad breath or Charles Solomon.

5 Granted that the movie may well stink anyway, but I have to endorse Pete's observations about Zac.We're talking about the guy who said Azumanga was a show for pedophiles, remember? I don't lend a whole lot of value to his opinion.

On the other hand, even a broken watch is right twice a day...

6 True, DB Evo may yet be as terrible as he writes. I'm not claiming otherwise, just appealing to caution.
